Bibliotherapy: Social Emotional Learning
Bibliotherapy utilizes picture books to help children deal with a wide range of problem behaviors that are bound to come up from time to time. Through picture books children are able to relate to the characters, validate their own feelings, and realize that other children have similar problems. This process empowers children to take responsibility for their feelings and develop necessary coping skills. The insights discovered through bibliotherapy can help both parents and school personnel work together in creating a wave of positive momentum in children’s lives that will help them be as successful as they can be.
